So You're New Here? |
Where we are |
First things first: a really warm welcome to you! We're delighted that you've decided to come to St Andrews. We hope you'll feel at home here quickly, and we'd be delighted to help you settle in to life in Fife.
We think it's splendid here... where else could you hope to live within ten minutes walk of: all of your lectures; two beaches; a majestic cathedral and an imposing castle; 52 flavours of ice cream under one roof; and loads of coffee shops?! There are also lots of churches to explore in St Andrews. It's good to try some out, but after a few weeks of shopping we'd encourage you to pick your favourite and stick to it. |
The church is in the town centre, just a block from South Street, opposite St Regulus Halls of Residence.

What we get up to
WORSHIP
In our corporate worship we think it's important to offer...
...creative use of familiar liturgy
...good preaching
...regular celebration of the Eucharist.
FOOD!
We think that food's really important too! We have regular congregational lunches after our 10am service, hosted in the homes of members of the congregation. Details can be found on our weekly Notice Sheet and in The Net, our monthly magazine.

Get Involved
Settling into a new church can be hard work. We like to think that we're a pretty friendly lot at Saint Andrew's, so hopefully you'll soon get to know people. There are also some things you can do to help you settle into a new church even more quickly:
JOIN A SMALL GROUP
We have a number of groups that meet in peoples homes during the week, to have fun together, study and discuss the Bible, and pray. Some of them eat together, too! To find out more about small groups contact Trevor.
SERVE
Contrary to common belief, Church doesn't happen by magic! Lots of people do jobs behind the scenes on Sundays and through the week to make it all come together. Why not offer to help out with something? Maybe you fancy reading a Bible passage during a Sunday service sometimes, welcoming people to church on Sunday, helping on a coffee rota, serving lunch and chatting with people at our Wednesday Midweek lunch, or helping with Young Church or our Youth Group -- there's bound to be something you can do. It's a great way to meet new people and make friends. To chat about the possibilities, get in touch with Trevor.
SING!
We have a choir at Saint Andrews, and we're always looking for new members who enjoy singing to join it. The choir lead our sung worship at our 10am Choral Eucharist on and 5pm Choral Evensong services on Sundays. The congregation also offers a number of Choral Scholarships, worth up to £450, to successful scholars. If you're interested in joining the choir or would like to know more about choral scholarships, contact our Director of Music, Dr. Jane Pettegree.
